Underbelly Jewel
Underbelly Jewels
Dolls, Film, and Beyond
By: Miss Oblivious
Where waterfront charm consists of neglected boats shielding their wounds behind broken-off piers and where dust-bowl glamour consists of Victorian pageantry in a cabaret of heartaches, Miss Oblivious has drawn inspiration to create individual hand-stitched dolls of
Seattle-based artists and performers through re-creations from still images captured through static and moving film.
Underbelly Jewels is a collection these unique dolls along with Miss Oblivious-made film-shorts and her Whims of Obscure paintings. Underbelly Jewels will be displayed at the Gainsbourg bar.
Opening night & reception
Friday April 10th 6-9 p.m.
10p.m films and a live performance by local ragtime blues genius Lonesome Shack.
Miss Oblivious, a Seattle-based custom doll-maker, writer, film producer/director, and artist, produces a public-access TV show in which she exhibits short films featuring Seattle talent including members of Circus Contraption and The Youngstown Residence. Miss Oblivious also produces Oblivious Nation, a zine documenting her life world, and messes.
